Round 8 Sep 29th

WELCOME

We finally get good weather for pit bike racing and what a great night we had. Racing was close all night especially in the new 16+Mod class. With 28 different riders in this class throughout the season, we closed it out with a tie between Dakota Kessler and Barry Goodwin. Goodwin lined up for the first moto with one point up on Kessler.  Kessler gets the start followed by Firestone and Goodwin. In the next corner Kessler and Firestone go down. Goodwin takes the lead and Kessler and Firestone are way behind coming through the pack. The last lap Goodwin endos before the checkered flag, but gets up quickly and still takes the win. Kessler pulls off a great ride getting second which still puts him in contention for the title. Third goes to Irwin and Firestone takes forth. The final moto Kessler again grabs the start, but this time makes no mistake and checks out.  Goodwin finds himself in second and watches Kessler take the final moto and overall win tying them for the title. The Champion goes to Kessler for the most wins in the season. Congrats to Kessler, Goodwin and Firestone for the top three in points. Mitchell Reed is the overall points champ in the 7-11 50stock with runner up Eric Plackis and Joe Deangelo.  Brian Ruggiero ran away in the 7-11 open class while Zack Burnett and Keith Pierce battled for second and third.  Joseph Gluck had three overall wins this year in the 12-15 stock class, but finishes second in points.  Third went to Matt Bernett, with the overall championship going to Chris Duymich.  Ben Firestone goes 3-1 in the 16+stock  for the overall but Barry Goodwin is the champion, and with a nice lead over Tom Ulikowski and Joshua Sheffer who finished only one point apart.  Jake Mckenna wins by only one point over Zack Burnett in the 7-15midsize and Nicholas Mcphee wins both motos for the day putting him in third for the season.  The 16+ midsize had 31 different riders this year and Scott Kalnas came out on top followed by Morgan Holbrook and Dan Williams.  A second place finish for the day was enough to make Jesse Pierce the champ in the 12-15 50open.  Damian Krause and Timmy Vogel were the runner-ups.  Dakota Kessler almost made a perfect score in the biggest class of 46 different riders in the 16+50open. He won all but one overall this year and that was due to a wet bike on round 5. He won with a whopping 54 points over second place Joshua Sheffer's 36 points and Jeff Roma's score of 31.  Jesse Amato's overall win with a 2-1 in the 7-15open 150cc puts him in  third in points and Tyler Schmidt gets the championship with Richie Trevelise finishing second.  Nils Tribus gets a overall win for the day and the championship in the 16+open 150cc. Rich Crouse's Fifth place finish is enough to move him into second and David Farmer gets third for the season.  Yes we did get rain, rain, and more rain this season but there is not much any of us could do with Mother Nature. I do want to thank everyone for sticking it out on some of those days and dealing with the weather we had all year. The racing we had was great and Special thanks to Dakota Kessler and Brian Wallace for the track designs this year. Thanks to all the Raceway Park staff and to Rich Schmidt for having pit bikes continue. We will keep you posted for what's in store for next year.

                                                                                      Thanks, George Trapani
