Round 1 May 6th

WELCOME

Raceway Park finally got that great weekend of Spring weather that made for some awesome racing. The turn out was lighter then expected of just about 110 entries, but the riders who came were ready to get this first round started. Dakota Kessler showed the new Mod class riders how to get it done in the first moto with Joel Dengler finishing second. Kessler went down in the start of the main and started last but finishes an impressive second place. The overall goes to Dengler with a 2-1, Kessler 1-2 and Barry Goodwin finishes with a pair of threes for third. Splitting the youth class this year to a 7-11 was a test that turned out 10 riders, not bad at all. Alex Lewis gets the overall with a 1-1 followed by Brian Rugglero's 2-2 and Zack Burnett takes third with a 3-3. The 16+ Midsize had some mixing going on with Scott Kalnas winning with a 1-2, Morgan Holbrook takes second with a 4-1 and Dan Williams's 2-3 gets him third. Brian Wallace grabs a 1-1 in the 12-15 Midsize class and Drew Ferraro struggles for a 5th place the first moto but pulls a 2nd over all by finishing 2nd in the final followed by Timmy Vogal's 3-4. What a great day for Dakota Kessler winning both motos in the 16+ 50cc Open, plus both motos in the Open 150cc and two dash classes. Kessler gets 7 of 8 moto wins…the boy is on a mission. Great ride Dakota! The 16+ 50cc dash for cash was one to watch; Jeff Roma gets the start with Kessler and Dengler on his tail. One lap in at the flag and Roma goes outside, Kessler inside and Dengler goes wide to start lap two. The three of them in that corner made it look like a national, the sound was unreal. Half way around the track and Roma goes off the track and Kessler takes the lead. By the next lap it looks like Kessler is pulling a bit and has it covered, but Dengler pushes hard to re-close the gap.  One lap later Dengler is there and Kessler goes wide because of a lapper… Dengler dives in a takes the lead, only to find a less than desirable line and plants himself hard.  Kessler retakes the lead and the moto win. Dengler regains to finish 2nd and Roma gets back up to take the third money spot. Till May 27th, Keep it FUN!!!
