Round #3 of the Trapani Pit Bike Race!
Who said Pit Bikes were just a fad? The number of entry's is still growing as we hit high 149! It was hot and dusty and with the help from the watering guys we ended up with the perfect conditions for night racing. Cody Kessler returned after missing round 2 due to an injury and must have had a lot of energy, riding five youth classes winning the 50cc stock, forth in 50cc mod, 2nd in 70-150cc, 1st in the 50cc Dash and 3rd in the 70-150 Dash, Wow! They mixed it up in the Adult 50cc stock class with Dengler winning big in the first moto with Firestone in 2nd, Burlew 3rd and Peary 4th. Roma couldn't keep it on two wheels in the first moto but got it together and won the 2nd moto followed by Burlew, Firestone and Dengler. Burlew gets the overall with a 3-2 and closes in on points leader Ben Firestone who went 2-3 for 2nd. In the youth mod Matt Burnett was only able to get a 8th overall and loses the point lead to Brian Wallace who took his Xtreme to a perfect 1-1 score and takes point lead by one. Roma and Nils had their ups and downs in the Premiere class. Tony Roth came back strong winning both motos of the premiere class and took the dash-for-cash as well. Chris Hutchison pulled a nice 5-2 finish good for 2nd and puts himself tied for 3rd in the points. The youth 70-150 went like this: Greg Lehto went 1-3, Kessler 2-2 and Joey Peters wins it with a 3-1 while Frank Lettieri only comes home with a 4th overall but still holds a 7 point lead. Ty Wallace joined in and had some fun winning the Adult 70-150 class and the dash-for-cash. Wallace said, "I haven't had that much fun riding in a long time." Nice ride by Derrick Nobman getting 2nd while a great battle between the Tribus brothers goes on behind. Lars goes 4-3 for 3rd and Nils gets a 5-4 for 4th.
